    Great outline list of what consumers expect from your website. Consumers demand more and will click off a site that they do not trust or does not have what they expect as there are other sites that will meet the expectations.

    Yes, more and more is being expected from online marketers because as you point out — there are so many choices. The key, though, is to really know your consumers and give them what they want and need.

    Shari, these are really specific to e-commerce sites. All the websites that I manage are informational sites. And they have quite different set ups than the one you mentioned.

    And small businesses, especially those that do services, can go a long way with just a few static pages, explaining what they do and how they can be contacted. A list of assets to develop a site more might be a blog, forms to get more information, photo gallery, videos, members only section, events and calendar or testimonials.

    This is a good list for e-commerce.
